The European Wanderlust traveler exploring a European city

My Story

A Life Shaped by European Roads

It started with a one-way train ticket to Lisbon and a backpack far too heavy for any sensible traveler. That first solo trip through Portugal cracked something open in me — a hunger for cobblestone streets, unfamiliar menus, and conversations with strangers who became friends.

Since then I've wandered through more than 30 European countries, sleeping in centuries-old guesthouses and sun-bleached seaside hotels, eating in Michelin-starred dining rooms and at plastic-table tavernas where the food was better. Every trip teaches me something new about the continent — and about myself.

European Wanderlust is my way of sharing those discoveries with you — the honest reviews, the hard-won tips, and the moments that make travel genuinely life-changing.

What You'll Find Here

Honest writing on everything that makes a European trip memorable

Destination Guides

Deep-dive guides to cities, regions and hidden corners across Europe — with practical tips on getting there, getting around, and making the most of every day.

Hotel Reviews

Candid, first-hand reviews of places I've actually slept — from boutique guesthouses to grand city hotels — with honest notes on value, atmosphere and service.

Restaurant Reviews

From street food to fine dining, I eat my way through every destination and report back — with dish recommendations, atmosphere notes, and price guides.

The best travel writing isn't about ticking off landmarks — it's about the café where you spent an entire afternoon reading, the wrong turn that led you somewhere extraordinary, the conversation that changed how you see the world. That's what I try to capture on every trip, and share on every page of this blog.
